DJ in Tampa Bay
Twenty years in the booth in South Florida — but I don't play the Miami set here. In Hillsborough County, Puerto Ricans and Cubans are almost evenly split, and there are more Mexican residents than in any other county in the state. A Tampa floor is not built like a Brickell floor. I cover Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Wesley Chapel, Spring Hill and Sarasota.
Areas
The historic district, and the one part of town where the night genuinely runs late. The old mutual-aid social clubs — the Cuban Club, Centro Asturiano, the Italian Club — are full event halls, with staircases, courtyards and century-old acoustics. You play them differently.
High-end corporate, right next to the Tampa Convention Center. Galas, sales kickoffs and convention closing nights. Suit, run of show, and measured volume.
The old streetcar barn on the river — the region's default industrial wedding venue. They require a coordinator and work from a vendor list, so here you come in through the planner.
South Tampa: homes, gardens and small clubs. Beautiful, expensive, and with the ten o'clock clock hanging over the whole night.
Across the bay. Beach weddings, resorts, and a noticeably different crowd from Hillsborough — more Anglo, earlier, more relaxed.
Ranches, farms and country clubs. All-inclusive packages, big families, and nights that start early because the venue closes early.
Local craft
In Ybor and the Channel District the ordinance allows up to 85 dBA at night. Everywhere else in the city it drops to 55 dBA after ten. A South Beach-style close, dropped into a residential Hillsborough venue, is a close that gets shut down.
Plus January–February for the snowbirds. June, July and August are the slow months: heat, humidity and a four o'clock downpour. If your date falls in high season, the booth gets held nearly a year out.
After Helene and Milton in 2024, nobody here signs without talking through what happens if the date has to move. I bring the postponement policy in writing with the first quote — not once there's already a named storm.
In this bay the volume moves through preferred-vendor lists, exclusivity agreements and all-inclusive packages that are already spoken for. That's why I work with planners and coordinators first, and show up with insurance and paperwork ready so a venue can approve me without friction.
Colombian party
More than 36,000 Colombian-born residents live in the Tampa Bay area, and Barranquilla has been Tampa's sister city since the 1960s — the Carnaval de Barranquilla has been celebrated here for over twenty-five years. Since March 2025 there's a nonstop Tampa–Bogotá flight, this airport's first ever to South America. Here a Colombian party isn't a niche: it's a community with its own calendar.

I come from Miami and I'm moving my base toward Central and West Florida. I cover all of Tampa Bay. Travel and load-in time get agreed based on the venue.
Both, and I switch based on the table in front of me. In Hillsborough, 3 in 10 households speak another language at home; in Miami-Dade it's 7 in 10. Here that means hosting in English and using Spanish to include — not the other way around.
Yes: sound, lighting, booth, setup and strike. If the venue has house AV, I patch into whatever is there and coordinate with their tech before event day.
It depends on the date, the hours and the setup. Send me those three things and you'll have a number within 24 hours. I don't publish prices because a November Saturday on Water Street and a July Thursday in Brandon don't quote the same.
